ME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS [OF THE HAIRY AND FEATHERED VARIETIES].

Welcome to my abode.

This was several years ago visiting Caernarfon with Isabelle, a friend from France who was teaching a French course here with me.

This was Frosty's daily task, putting the ducks to bed. On my command of, 'Get ducks,' she even used to go down to the stream without me and bring them all up to their house. I often wish she was here if they are being contrary, as the bank down to the stream is about 10 feet and very steep.

Teifi and I about to go out in the van.

Me outside the Snowdonia Cafe in Capel Curig -- a favourite destination for an excursion. There is also a lovely walk by the river through the Gwydyr Forest for the dogs.

For those with better knees than me the best of all views of Snowdon is from a point high up in this forest.

Tea time for the ducks. One of my favourite jobs

The logs are awaiting the attention of someone else. I can chop but am not very good at lugging them elsewhere. In spring such log jams have to be cleared to give a free passage to the tractor of Gareth [my neighbour] so that he can provide an ambulance service from the maternity shed to the field in front of Bodyfudda

My foster daughter Janette helping with feeding ducks on a visit from London.

Mum, at around the 100 mark, watching the ducks. That used to be a favourite occupation in good weather.

Me with my friend Valerie on the front yard with Bess, Teifi and

Wispy.

Inset are Bess, Wispy, Cymro [only expanse of back visible], Frosty and Teifi in the back of Val's Mini. Whenever Val arrives to stay, they think she brings the car as a taxi for them. Some years back she arrived for a holiday with bad timing, since I was teaching an intensive course and was therefore not able to be very

sociable during the day. So she made herself useful taking the dogs out of my way and combining dog walks with sightseeing. Since then she has even stayed here without me and enabled me to get away for the odd weekend, leaving Val with not only dogs and ducks etc, but also with my mother. True friendship indeed. In her other life she was a midwife, and it is quite difficult to walk through Fareham without encountering someone she delivered into this world.
